Sidewalk Sale Outreach June 2007
What an extravagant Father we have! The
Sidewalk Sale outreach event held on Friday, May 25 and Saturday May 26, 2007 on
Mississaga Street was such an amazing time. I was blessed over and over by
seeing so many of God's children engaging the lost and hurting on the main
street of Orillia.
One of the most popular areas was the
"prayer tent" where people were invited to find out the spiritual significance
of their name. Using a Christian baby names book, prayer teams shared the
Christian meaning of numerous peoples names over two beautiful days.
Everyone who received the name meaning also was given a scripture verse
which goes with their name - we are praying for Bibles to hand out with the
scripture highlighted for each individual during our future events. So many
young people don't even know what a Bible looks like today.
People were lined up constantly,
especially younger people were hungry for affirmation. One lady who's name is
Wendy was so depressed about her name (which she knew means "wanderer") that she
was visibly hurting. When the team looked up her name, they confirmed that her
name did indeed mean wanderer, but, that it's significance is that she is a
"seeker of truth". Her countenance absolutely lit up at this revelation, and her
spirit was open to listen attentively as Jesus was shared with her.
Over the course of the two days twelve
people gave their lives to the Lord on the main street of Orillia!!! Talk
about answered prayers!
Your prayers are making a difference -
now is the time to press in! I believe that this summer the eyes of the entire
continent of North America will be turned upon this sleepy little central
Ontario city of Orillia. God has opened the floodgates of His love over Orillia,
and when we experience the full blast of the impending tsunami, nothing will
ever be the same again!
Declare Zechariah 8:23 over Orillia: 'This
is what the Lord Almighty says: "In those days ten men from all languages and
nations will take firm hold of one Orillian* by the hem of his robe and say,
'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.'"

IFTG Opening Night July 6, 2007
God’s presence did in
fact inhabit the praises of His people at Couchiching Park on the first evening
of the “It’s Friday… Thank God!!!” concert series. A worship team from Trinity
Community Church in Oro-Medonte was brought together at the last minute to stand
in for Pat Dryburgh, who was severely injured in a mugging incident on July
first. Matthew Fox and his team had only one practice session - but their hearts
are so filled with worship for our Lord that praises flowed just like living
waters. Pat was there to share his story during a break, and to urge us all to
“catch” his vision that, “Faith is not a spectator event,” that participation is
absolutely necessary. At one point, during a solo by Jackie, an awe inspiring
hush came over the crowd; later, people reported “seeing” visions of fire
amongst the audience, and angels on the roof of the Aqua Theatre.
“It couldn’t have
happened without God having His hand in all of it,” says Rick Brownbill, one of
the organizers of the seven weekend event. “The way it all turned out looked
nothing like we had originally planned it… we had to rely very heavily on His
provision for us. But with perfect weather, a beautiful setting, and a crowd
with hearts full of love of for our heavenly Father, and our city, how could it
have been anything less than amazing?”
Mayor Ron Stevens
opened the series with a blessing full of thanksgiving and praise for God.
Everyone was silently impressed with the understanding that in most countries a
city official would not have the freedom to do such a thing. We truly are
privileged to live in Orillia!
On
Friday July 13th Jeremy and Connie Sinnott from Toronto Airport
Christian Fellowship will be leading us in worship at the Aqua Theatre, and on
July 27th The Invasion Band from Gravenhurst will be here. Other
teams will be at Couchiching Park August 10th, 17th, 24th
and 31rst.
